Dr. Joseph Mina Atalla is the founder of The JM Dental in Santa Ana. Education & training
After completing his International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) through Cambridge, Dr. Atalla went straight into dental school and qualified as a dentist at just 22. In his early years he spent long hours shadowing some of the most experienced dentists in the field, several with more than 40 years of practice, and he has never stopped learning since, pursuing advanced implant training around the world, including continuing education connected to Goethe University Frankfurt, Vienna Medical University, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UCLA, Boston University, and New York University. He is currently engaged in research and a Master of Science program at Goethe University Frankfurt.

Beyond dentistry
Dr. Atalla grew up inspired by his father, a doctor he describes as legendary in both ethics and skill. He was equally captivated by architecture, design, physics, and art, and dentistry became the perfect meeting point of science and artistry. Outside the office he has been a swim coach, Sunday school teacher, and licensed lifeguard instructor; he loves squash, swimming, travel, and learning about new cultures.
